La più famosa attrazione di Tervuren è senza dubbio l'AfricaMuseum. Originariamente, il Palazzo d'Africa fungeva da museo del Congo, ma quando questo scoppiò rapidamente, il re Leopoldo II fece costruire un nuovo museo. In uno dei padiglioni laterali venne ospitato il famoso archivio Stanley. Oltre a essere un museo, è anche un rinomato istituto scientifico con collezioni di fama mondiale.
