Con nove anni di ritardo e un notevole sforamento del budget fino a 480 milioni di euro, Santiago Calatrava ha completato la stazione di Bergen. Anche se è lontano da Valencia, continua ad applicare quel carattere stilistico mediterraneo anche in luoghi grigi. In lontananza fluttua una lunga trave con un muso aerodinamico che ricorda una locomotiva TGV.
Nel corso degli anni, a sud della stazione è nato un nuovo quartiere. Nel 2015, l'altro starchitetto Daniel Libeskind ha presentato il nuovo centro congressi per la città. Da allora, sono stati aggiunti un commissariato di polizia, un hotel di lusso, un edificio espositivo e due recenti blocchi edilizi.
