Un tempo la Galleria Bortier a Bruxelles era un mecca per i libri, ora attira turisti affamati. Dal 1848, una decina di librai risiedeva nel complesso coperto, costruito in stile neo-rinascimentale con facciate bordò, ornamenti in legno e un tetto in vetro ondulato. La galleria fu progettata da Jean-Pierre Cluysenaar, anche l'architetto delle Gallerie di San Giobbe nel centro città.
La Galleria Bortier a Bruxelles è stata per oltre 150 anni un punto fermo nel mondo dei libri antichi, fino a quando la città di Bruxelles ha deciso di trasformarla in un' ‘foodspot’ alla moda.
