La battaglia di Hannut fu uno scontro combattuto in Belgio tra due Panzer-Divisionen della Wehrmacht e due divisioni leggere meccanizzate francesi durante la fase iniziale della campagna di Francia del 1940, nella seconda guerra mondiale. Si trattò della prima grande battaglia di carri della guerra e del solo scontro corazzato in cui i carri francesi vennero impiegati in grandi formazioni e riuscirono, sfruttando le notevoli qualità tecniche dei mezzi, a contrastare ed a infliggere sensibili perdite ai vantati panzer tedeschi.
