Il bacino di Rivage en Pot ha consentito il passaggio del canale Ourthe, completato nel 1854, verso la Mosa. Il nome del bacino richiamerebbe il probabile uso del sito durante il periodo romano. L'etimologia di "Rivage en Pot" deriverebbe dalle parole latine "ripa," che significa riva, e "emporium," che può essere tradotto come magazzino, luogo di scambio, mercato pubblico.
La struttura è composta da due porte a doppio battente ed è delimitata da muri di banchina realizzati con grandi blocchi di calcare. Questi sono limitati da parapetti in calcare che sostengono corrimano in ghisa dipinta. La casa del custode del bacino, costruita a metà del XIX secolo, occupa l'immediata vicinanza.
Classificato come monumento il 20 maggio 1983.
