Fino a qualche anno fa, le pozze qui erano ancora vasche di allevamento per piante acquatiche. Dopo l'acquisto, l'associazione naturale Limburgs Landschap vzw ha fatto progettare le pozze per creare un maggiore valore naturale. Le sponde delle pozze sono state rese più inclinate e il fango è stato rimosso dai fondali delle pozze. Così è nato un piccolo complesso di pozze con zone paludose e transizioni naturali. Lungo le sponde ora crescono ampie bande di canne. Queste bande di canne sono molto apprezzate da numerosi uccelli, come il pettirosso blu e l'ardea, per nidificare.
