Peter il Grande ha una statua nel Warandepark di Bruxelles che ricorda la sua notevole visita nel 1717. Durante una festa bevve tanto vino che dovette vomitare in una fontana, il che fu immortalato dai bruxellesi con un testo ludico sulla vasca della fontana.
La statua stessa è stata donata nel 1854 dal principe russo Antoli Demitov in memoria di questa visita storica.
Il testo sulla fontana originale recita: "Pietro Alexeiovich, tsar di Mosca, granduca, seduto al bordo di questa fontana, ha arricchito le acque con il vino che ha bevuto, il 16 aprile 1717, alle tre del pomeriggio". Sebbene lo zar fosse noto per le sue ambizioni di modernizzazione, è ricordato a Bruxelles per il suo comportamento da ubriaco.
