Nel 1838 l'abate locale fece collocare una statua di Sant'Antonio, dopo di che l'albero divenne un luogo di pellegrinaggio locale per gli agricoltori della zona. Qui venivano a implorare la guarigione per i loro maiali e portavano con sé ghiande come mangime per i porcellini. I rami della chioma piena dell'albero sono comunque ancora pesantemente caricati di ghiande in autunno.
