Chi è Leon Segers?
Leon Segers è un personaggio fittizio creato per raccontare della Prima Guerra Mondiale in questa regione. È nato a Ploegsteert, al confine tra Belgio e Francia. I suoi genitori coltivavano tabacco e gestivano una taverna, ma a causa del suo spirito curioso, la sua vocazione era nel giornalismo. Quando scoppiò la guerra, rimase nel Belgio non occupato, da dove seguì gli eventi bellici. I suoi nonni abitavano a Roeselare e lì vissero l'occupazione. Dopo la guerra, Leon ascoltò le loro storie e aneddoti. Curioso com'era, si mise in bicicletta per cercare i resti della guerra e le storie che vi si celavano.
