Merendree sfoggia una impressionante cintura di castelli, con il castello Ten Walle, il castello di Melderen e il castello Velde o il ‘castello rosa’. La salita sul Molenberg (punto di intersezione 55) richiede un certo sforzo, ma la cima offre una vista mozzafiato sul dominio naturale della Valle di Oude Kale. A Hansbeke non puoi non notare le persiane blu e bianche, che rimandano al passato di castello del villaggio.
