Fino al 31 dicembre 2014 è stato un comune autonomo che si estendeva per 4,59 km²; il 1º gennaio 2015 è stato accorpato agli altri comuni soppressi di Almens, Pratval, Rodels e Tomils per formare il nuovo comune di Domleschg.
Dista 3 km dalla stazione ferroviaria di Rodels-Realta e 3 km dall'uscita autostradale di Thusis nord, sulla A13/E43.
