Bad Wildungen è una cittadina con un centro di bagni termali e un luogo di cura nel distretto di Waldeck-Frankenberg nella parte occidentale dell'Assia settentrionale. Bad Wildungen è stata per molti anni una delle cinque stazioni termali statali dell'Assia.
Bad Wildungen si trova ai piedi del Kellerwald nella cosiddetta terra di vacanza di Waldeck. La città, che si estende a est dell'Homberg, è attraversata dal fiume Wilde, che sfocia nel distretto di Wega nell'Eder. I quartieri di Wega e Mandern si trovano lungo l'Eder. Questo fiume forma, più a monte, il lago di Edersee, un lago artificiale situato a circa 10 km a nord-ovest della città principale di Bad Wildungen. I quartieri sud-occidentali di Hundsdorf, Armsfeld e Bergfreiheit sono attraversati dall'Urff.
