Grünendeich è un comune nel distretto di Stade nella Bassa Sassonia. Il comune fa parte della comunità Samtgemeinde Lühe, che ha la sua sede amministrativa nel comune di Steinkirchen.
Spiegazione del nome del luogo
Le vecchie denominazioni del luogo sono 1449 Gronendike e 1559 Gronendike. Probabilmente Grünendeich è il nuovo nome per Bardesfleth. La nuova area colonizzata ha ricevuto il nome Grünendeich, che è stato menzionato per la prima volta nel 1449 e descritto come parrocchia autonoma intorno al 1500. Una prima chiesa vicino all'Elba è stata distrutta dalle tempeste nel 16° secolo. Pertanto, il nome del luogo significa in basso tedesco: "sul dūke verde".
