Salzhemmendorf è un comune nel distretto di Hameln-Pyrmont in Bassa Sassonia. Salzhemmendorf è stato un centro termale riconosciuto dallo stato fino alla fine del 2010 con un'attività termale a base di sali.
L'area del comune di Salzhemmendorf si trova all'interno delle colline di Leine nel lato orientale del parco naturale Weserbergland Schaumburg-Hameln ed è principalmente caratterizzata dai rilievi dell'Ith a ovest, dell'Osterwald a nord e del Thüster Berg a est. Le frazioni di Salzhemmendorf si trovano a un'altitudine di 86–441 metri sopra il livello del mare. Nel comune scorre il torrente Saale, affluente sud-occidentale della Leine.
