Hettstedt è una città nella parte orientale del Harzvorland nel distretto di Mansfeld-Südharz, Sassonia-Anhalt, a circa 40 km a nord-ovest di Halle. La città è conosciuta per il passato sfruttamento del rame e una metallurgia non ferrosa ancora oggi significativa.
Hettstedt si trova nella Repubblica Federale di Germania nel Land di Sassonia-Anhalt, a circa 50 km a sud della capitale regionale Magdeburgo e a circa 40 km a nord-ovest di Halle. Hettstedt si trova sul margine sud-est dell'Harz lungo il fiume Wipper.
