Ostritz è una città rurale sassone nel distretto di Görlitz nella Alta Lusazia. Ostritz si trova nell'estremo oriente della Sassonia, sulla riva occidentale della Neisse, direttamente al confine con la città e il comune polacco di Bogatynia. L'area urbana si estende lungo la riva occidentale della Neisse lusaziana nella regione naturale dell'Alta Lusazia Orientale. Da nord a sud si susseguono: Leuba, la vera città di Ostritz; la città vecchia e, completamente a sud, il monastero di St. Marienthal con il suo insediamento anteposto.
