Niemetal è un comune che appartiene alla Samtgemeinde di Dransfeld nel distretto di Göttingen nella parte meridionale della Bassa Sassonia. Nel comune vivono circa 1500 abitanti.
Il comune di Niemetal, che si trova a ovest di Dransfeld, si trova tra Bramwald a ovest e il bosco cittadino di Dransfeld a est. Tutte le frazioni – Varlosen, Imbsen, Löwenhagen ed Ellershausen vor dem Walde – sono attraversate dalla Nieme. Niemetal è circondato dal Parco Naturale di Münden.
