Celle è una città tedesca della Bassa Sassonia, capoluogo del circondario omonimo.
Dal punto di vista storico e architettonico il centro cittadino, caratterizzato da case a graticcio, è di notevole interesse.
L'integrità del suo centro è unica nelle città tedesche di una certa importanza: Celle non fu infatti colpita dai bombardamenti alleati durante la II guerra mondiale in quanto luogo d'origine della dinastia di Hannover, divenuta Windsor.
La città sorge nella Landa di Luneburgo , sulle rive del fiume Aller. Si trova a circa 40 km a Nord-est di Hannover, a 60 km a Nord-ovest di Braunschweig e a 120 km a Sud di Amburgo.
