Habichtswald è un comune nel distretto di Kassel, in Assia settentrionale. L'amministrazione comunale si trova nella frazione di Dörnberg.
Il comune di Habichtswald si trova nel parco naturale di Habichtswald a circa 10 km a ovest di Kassel, a nord dell'Essigberg, a sud dell'Hohen Dörnberg e a sud-est del Großen Bärenberg. L'area comunale occidentale è attraversata dal fiume Warme e quella settentrionale dal suo affluente Lubach.
