La chiesa evangelico-luterana Maria-Magdalena si trova a Fulkum, un luogo nel comune di Holtgast, che fa parte del comune dell'area orientale dell'Frisia Esens. L'edificio è stato consacrato nel 1862.
Sulla piattaforma sacra artificialmente creata sono documentati tre edifici precursori in legno. Questi risalgono fino al XII secolo. In questo periodo, la metà orientale dell'attuale piattaforma è stata riempita con un monte di sabbia alto circa 2,5 metri. Questo ha formato la piattaforma di costruzione per la prima chiesa, che è stata poi distrutta da un incendio. L'edificio successivo è stato anch'esso costruito in legno. Aveva una larghezza di circa 4 metri ed è stato anch'esso preda delle fiamme. Nel tardo XII secolo la piattaforma è stata rialzata e costruita con una nuova chiesa in legno.
