Il Bösen Sieben è un torrente che nasce all'est del Harz. Scorre nel distretto di Mansfeld-Südharz attraverso la città di Lutero di Eisleben e sfocia a Lüttchendorf nel Süßen See, da cui a nord e a sud di Seeburg sfociano altri due bracci nel Bindersee e da questo infine uno nel Kernersee. Da quest'ultimo, l'acqua viene infine pompata per alcuni metri di dislivello nella Salza, chiamata Querne e Weida nel tratto superiore e medio, che sfocia nella Saale a Salzmünde.
Fino al Süßen See, il livello altimetrico del Bösen Sieben scende da oltre 200 m s.l.m. a 92,6 m s.l.m. Da lì, l'altezza scende in modo relativamente brusco a 79,9 m s.l.m. al Bindersee e 78,7 m s.l.m. al Kernersee, da dove viene nuovamente pompato a circa 85,4 m s.l.m. verso la Salza.
