L'area naturale protetta di Ahlhorner Fischteiche è una riserva di 465 ettari situata a ovest del parco naturale Wildeshauser Geest nel Bassa Sassonia, che si estende su entrambi i lati della Lethe, al margine sud-ovest del distretto di Oldenburg e al margine orientale del distretto di Cloppenburg. I laghetti della riserva naturale Ahlhorner Fischteiche si trovano nei comuni di Großenkneten ed Emstek. Costituiscono una parte dell'area Fauna-Flora-Habitat 012 dell'Unione Europea. Un piccolo tratto a ovest della Lethe, situato nel nord-ovest della riserva, appartiene al comune di Garrel nel distretto di Cloppenburg.
