La chiesa di San Giorgio a Bad Gandersheim è una chiesa navata. Si caratterizza per un coro in legno e la sua pittura interna contadina del XVII secolo.
L'età della chiesa di San Giorgio non è esattamente nota. Lo cronista Henricus Bodo, un monaco del monastero di Clus, data in una cronaca degli anni 1523-1532 la costruzione nel IX secolo. Viene menzionata per la prima volta nel 1196 come chiesa parrocchiale della città ai tempi dell'abate Mechthild I. Secondo Henricus Bodo, la fondazione della chiesa del monastero di Clus risale alla chiesa di San Giorgio.
