Il Gymnasium Haranni di Herne è una scuola pubblica sia per ragazzi che per ragazze. Il nome "Haranni" è l'antico nome latino della città di Herne.
La scuola ospita 630 studenti e un corpo docente di 57 membri. La preside è Nicole Nowak. Le scuole partner del Gymnasium Haranni si trovano a Thiais vicino a Parigi, Wakefield e Konin e Zagórów. Gli scambi tra studenti avvengono regolarmente con queste scuole. Dal 2011 viene anche offerta una gita di studio a Oxford al decimo anno.
