Il lago Wambachsee è uno dei sei laghi del complesso dei Sei Laghi a Wedau. È l'unico lago che non è direttamente collegato agli altri laghi. È collegato al lago Masurensee tramite un canale sotterraneo che confina con il club di canottaggio.
Il Wambachsee è l'unico lago del complesso dei Sei Laghi in cui è consentito immergersi. Il lago è anche un centro di formazione per l'Associazione Tedesca degli Immersionisti Sportivi. Un accesso per i subacquei, pensato per facilitare l'ingresso, si trova sulla sponda orientale del lago.
