Reichssicherheitshauptamt o RSHA era uno degli otto Hauptämter in cui si suddividevano le Schutzstaffel ; controllando tutto il sistema di polizia e sicurezza della Germania nazista, esercitava un enorme potere e durante la seconda guerra mondiale svolse funzioni di direzione dell'apparato repressivo nazista contro oppositori, resistenti, etnie "nemiche", minoranze ed ebrei.
Venne creato da Heinrich Himmler il 27 settembre 1939 attraverso l'unificazione del Sicherheitsdienst, della Gestapo e della Reichskriminalpolizei. Il RSHA era responsabile delle operazioni dei servizi segreti in Germania e all'estero, dello spionaggio e del controspionaggio, della lotta contro i crimini politici e i crimini comuni, e del sondaggio dell'opinione pubblica sul regime nazista.
