Neubabelsberg è una colonia di villette fondata dopo la creazione dell'Impero tedesco e che dal 1939 appartiene a Potsdam. Si trova nella parte orientale di Potsdam, a sud-ovest della località berlinese di Kohlhasenbrück e si estende dalla stazione S-Bahn di Griebnitzsee lungo il lago Griebnitzsee fino al giardino imperiale Park Babelsberg con il castello di Babelsberg in esso situato.
La colonia di villette è sorta nel territorio del comune di Klein Glienicke nel distretto di Teltow, che nel 1925 è stata rinominata Neubabelsberg. Il comune di Neubabelsberg è stato incorporato il 1 aprile 1938 nella città di Nowawes, che è stata contemporaneamente rinominata Babelsberg. La città di Babelsberg è stata incorporata il 1 aprile 1939 nella città di Potsdam.
