Mukrena è una frazione di Könnern in Sassonia-Anhalt. Il villaggio si trova sulla riva destra della Saale di fronte alla città di Alsleben.
Mukrena si trova nella pianura pedemontana dell'Harz e quindi all'interno dell'ombra pluviale dell'Harz, soffrendo di mancanza d'acqua. Con meno di 500 mm di precipitazioni annuali, quest'area registra le precipitazioni più basse della Sassonia-Anhalt.
La Saale qui è solo leggermente incassata. Il livello inferiore della chiusa della Saale nel villaggio è di 60,01 m NN e il Radeberg ha un'altezza di 102,9 m s.l.m.
Il nome Mukrena deriva dal sorabo, mok = bagnato, in tedesco circa prato umido o bosco umido.
