Il borgo di Borgau si trova sul versante nord-est della Finne in un terreno collinare a ovest delle strade statali 87 e 250 e a sud della strada statale 176.
Il borgo è stato citato per la prima volta in un documento il 26 dicembre 1209. Tuttavia, si dice che Borgau esistesse già prima, sebbene non sia documentabile, come villaggio slavo. L'attuale chiesa esiste dal 1818. Nel borgo vivevano nel 2012 un totale di 47 persone.
