L'Indemann, grazie alla sua grandezza e alla sua posizione, alta sulla Goltsteinkuppe, è il simbolo visibile delle prospettive che l'indeland offre ai suoi abitanti. La sua architettura moderna rappresenta il futuro tecnico della regione, la sua luce che cambia continuamente nel buio simboleggia la trasformazione strutturale nel bacino minerario del carbone di lignite; la sua stabilità rappresenta la storia che dura da oltre 10.000 anni dell'indeland. Il monumento alto 36 metri indica con il suo braccio il paesaggio in continua evoluzione del sito minerario di Inden. Dalle numerose piattaforme panoramiche si gode di una vista ampia e spettacolare sull'indeland.
