La miniera Eleonore alla base del Dünsberg nel Biebertal era una delle miniere più importanti. Veniva estratto il minerale di ferro brunito contenente manganese.
Il 2 maggio 1856, il campo minerario Eleonore nella zona VI del distretto di Fellingshausen fu concesso al commerciante di ferro di Francoforte J.M. Bastert, formato a Giessen. L'intitolazione dovrebbe risalire alla figlia maggiore di Bastert, Eleonore Elisabethe.
