L'area protetta dei laghi Krickenbecker e del piccolo De Wittsee si trova nel territorio della città di Nettetal, nel distretto di Viersen, in North Rhine-Westphalia.
L'area di circa 718,7 ettari, dichiarata riserva naturale nel 2006, si estende a est di Leuth, un quartiere di Nettetal, direttamente lungo la strada federale 221 che passa sul bordo occidentale. Comprende i laghi Krickenbecker e il piccolo De-Witt-See. Nella parte meridionale, la strada statale 373 attraversa l'area. A ovest si trova il confine di stato con i Paesi Bassi e a sud-ovest l'autostrada federale 61. Il fiume Nette attraversa l'area in tutta la sua lunghezza.
