L'ufficio di Ruhland è un ente costituito nel 1992 nel distretto di Oberspreewald-Lausitz del Land Brandenburg, dove sei comuni del precedente distretto di Senftenberg si erano uniti in un consorzio amministrativo. Un settimo comune si è unito poco dopo. La sede dell'amministrazione dell'ufficio è la città di Ruhland. Con l'inserimento di un comune, il numero dei comuni appartenenti all'ufficio è tornato a sei.
L'ufficio si trova a sud del distretto di Oberspreewald-Lausitz. Confina a nord con la città di Schwarzheide, a est con la città di Senftenberg, a sud con il libero stato di Sassonia, a ovest con l'ufficio di Ortrand e a nord-ovest, a breve distanza, con la città di Lauchhammer.
