Il villaggio è situato nella parte orientale della valle inferiore dell'Iller a circa 2,5 km a sud di Illertissen a un'altezza di 519 m sul livello del mare. A est, il terreno sale gradualmente verso la foresta di Oberroggenburg. Due chilometri a ovest si trova il confine con il Baden-Württemberg.
L'area era già abitata dagli esseri umani nel Mesolitico, come dimostrano alcuni reperti. Circa un chilometro a sud del paese si trovava una stazione all'aperto, protetta come monumento archeologico con il numero di protocollo D-7-7826-0030.
