La riserva naturale di Romberg si trova nel comune di Main-Spessart, a sud di Sendelbach, un quartiere di Lohr am Main.
A ovest dell'area scorre il fiume Meno, mentre a nord-est si snoda la St 2437. Nell'area si erge il Romberg, alto 230 metri, che è nato come montagna circolare. Sulle sue praterie sabbiose ci sono, tra l'altro, abbondanti popolazioni di scarabei. Nei piccoli stagni temporanei nella valle del Meno ai piedi del Romberg vivono crostacei di primavera.
