Salamanca è una città spagnola, capoluogo della provincia omonima. Si trova nella Comunità Autonoma di Castiglia e León nella meseta settentrionale. È stata dichiarata Patrimonio dell'umanità dall'UNESCO nel 1988.
Il settore dei servizi è la principale fonte dei redditi della città. Rilevante l'attività educativa soprattutto durante l'estate, che conta una grande affluenza di studenti stranieri, che in maggioranza arrivano per apprendere lo spagnolo e ad assistere a diversi corsi estivi di lingua e cultura spagnola di livello universitario.
