La Battaglia di Cacabelos fu una battaglia minore della guerra contro i francesi che ebbe luogo il 3 gennaio 1809, sul ponte alla periferia di Cacabelos, provincia di León mentre le forze britanniche di John Moore si ritiravano a La Coruna.
Dopo la disastrosa Convenzione di Sintra, durante la quale fu permesso il rimpatrio delle truppe francesi sconfitte nella battaglia di Vimeiro, i comandanti dell'esercito britannico furono richiamati nella loro patria per affrontare un'inchiesta. In questo modo, le truppe espedizionarie britanniche in Spagna e Portogallo furono lasciate sotto il comando di John Moore, un militare noto per le sue riforme nelle tattiche della fanteria leggera.
