Il monumento si trova nei pressi del Jardin des Plantes e di fronte all'ex fabbrica di profumi Chiris.
Inaugurata nel 1914 , progettata dagli architetti Léon Le Bel e James Warnery, con un busto in bronzo di Léon Chiris in cima.
Sotto il busto si trova un gruppo scultoreo in marmo : un'anziana donna in abito tradizionale provenzale indica il busto di una giovane ragazza (o forse sua nipote) che porta un mazzo di fiori, fiori che probabilmente simboleggiano il ruolo dei fiori nella profumeria.
François Antoine Léon Chiris (1839-1900), profumiere e politico locale, prima sindaco, poi deputato e infine senatore delle Alpi Marittime.
Sotto la sua guida, la Maison Chiris è diventata una potenza mondiale della profumeria ; tra le altre cose, ha costruito una distilleria in stile moresco ("la Moschea") a Grasse e una filiale in Algeria.
