Discover all benefitsLa famosa Route des Grandes Alpes è un itinerario turistico attraverso le Alpi francesi tra il Lago di Ginevra e la Costa Azzurra, passando per tutti i passi alpini più alti della Francia.
La strada inizia a Thonon-les-Bains e sale attraverso Les Gets e Cluses. Da lì si dirige verso Saint-Gervais e Megève, superando il Col des Saisies (1.633 m). Poi passa attraverso Beaufort, Bourg-Saint-Maurice e arriva a Val-d'Isère. La strada attraversa poi il Col de l'Iseran (2.770 m).
Successivamente, la strada attraversa Modane e il Col du Galibier (2.642 m) e poi il Col du Lautaret fino a La Grave. La strada prosegue verso Briançon e poi sul Col d'Izoard (2.361 m). La strada passa poi per Embrun e il Col de Vars (2.111 m) fino a Barcelonnette, dove è possibile scegliere di proseguire verso sud attraverso il passo più alto di tutti, il Col de la Bonette (2.802 m) oppure il Col de la Cayolle (2.327 m). L'estremità originale della Route era Nizza, ma ora è Menton, raggiunta attraverso i colli di Sainte-Martin (1.500 m), Turini (1.607 m) e Castillon (707 m).
