Partendo dalla stazione delle Orres, una successione di sentieri forestali in balcone sul lago di Serre-Ponçon conducono fino al villaggio di Pontis alle porte della valle dell'Ubaye.
Arrivati in riva al lago di Serre-Ponçon nel luogo dove si trovava il villaggio sommerso di Ubaye, risalire la valle in direzione di Barcelonnette e poi Sainte-Anne La Condamine, punto di partenza del sentiero del Parpaillon.
La presenza di cumuli di neve e ghiaccio può rendere difficile l'attraversamento del tunnel del Parpaillon. Arrivati al villaggio di Crévoux dopo una bella discesa nella foresta di larici, riprendere un sentiero agevole fino alle Orres.
