Il volo British Airways 38 era un volo passeggeri di linea internazionale da Pechino, Cina, a Londra, Regno Unito. Il 17 gennaio 2008, un Boeing 777 operante su tale tratta è precipitato a poca distanza dalla pista dell'aeroporto di destinazione, quello di Heathrow. Non ci sono state vittime tra le persone a bordo dei 152 occupanti ne sono rimasti feriti 47, di cui uno in modo grave.
L'aereo era un Boeing 777-236ER, immatricolato nel Regno Unito G-YMMM e alimentato da 2 motori Rolls-Royce Trent 895-17. Era stato consegnato a British Airways da Boeing il 31 maggio 2001; al momento dell'incidente aveva volato per soli 6 anni, pochi considerando che solitamente un 777 ne dura più del triplo.
