La Shee Alms House fu fondata dalla famiglia Shee nel 1582 'per accogliere dodici persone povere' nella città di Kilkenny, Irlanda. È una casa di ricovero di significativa importanza nazionale del periodo Tudor.
Sir Richard Shee fondò la casa di ricovero, originariamente chiamata Ospedale di Gesù, durante il periodo in cui la famiglia era una potente famiglia di mercanti a Kilkenny. Creò la casa nel 1582 e la dotò nel suo testamento nel 1603. Lucas Shee, suo figlio, predispose una carta reale per la casa di ricovero che fu concessa il 4 novembre 1609. Nel 1752 la casa di ricovero fu venduta dal suo discendente Edmond Shee. La famiglia fu spogliata durante il periodo cromwelliano. Tuttavia, riacquistarono controllo e potere nel XVIII secolo. Sir Nicholas Power O'Shee di Gardenmorris, Co. Waterford, riprese possesso della casa nel 1756 e questa funzionò come casa di ricovero fino al 1830.
