Il passo del Brennero (in tedesco: Brennerpass, in italiano: Passo del Brennero) separa l'Austria dall'Italia. A 1.372 m sopra il livello del mare, è il passaggio più basso e frequentato tra il nord e il sud delle Alpi e l'unico che attraversa una ferrovia all'aperto. È anche attraversato dall'autostrada europea 45 utilizzando l'autostrada a pagamento A13 aperta il 17 novembre 1963 in Austria e l'autostrada A22 in Italia.
La costruzione dell'autostrada iniziò nel 1957 e in questa occasione fu costruita l'Europabrücke, che fino al 1974 fu il ponte più alto d'Europa con 190 m di altezza.
