Acquanegra Cremonese è un comune italiano di 1 125 abitanti della provincia di Cremona, in Lombardia.
Il luogo ove sorge il paese era anticamente occupato dal "Lago Gerundo", una sorta di grande palude formata dalle acque straripanti dei fiumi Adda, Po e Serio. Grazie all'intervento dell'uomo nel corso dei secoli, nonché al naturale cambiamento del corso dei fiumi che lo alimentavano, il Lago Gerundo andò prosciugandosi favorendo la nascita di aggregazioni umane.
Pur avendo il nome una chiara matrice latina , non vi sono notizie certe sulla sua origine, anche se in una località del paese sono state trovate ceramiche risalenti all'età del bronzo.
