Castelnuovo di Garfagnana è un comune italiano di 5 593 abitanti della provincia di Lucca in Toscana; è il capoluogo della Garfagnana.
Sorge alla confluenza del fiume Serchio con il torrente Tùrrite Secca. A Castelnuovo è stato scoperto un particolare minerale, la dinite, che prende il nome da Olinto Dini , professore di fisica all'Università di Pisa, omonimo del celebre poeta, che la scoprì in un locale deposito di lignite nel 1852.
