Civitella del Tronto è un comune italiano di 4 593 abitanti della provincia di Teramo in Abruzzo. Fa parte dell'unione dei comuni Città Territorio-Val Vibrata ed è incluso nel club de I borghi più belli d'Italia.
Il territorio comunale varia d’altitudine da un minimo di 135 m a un massimo di 1 814 m, con un’escursione altimetrica pari a 1 679 m. Il centro storico di Civitella del Tronto si trova a 589 m s.l.m. su una rupe rocciosa di travertino ed è sovrastata dalla fortezza, ultimo baluardo dei Borbone di Napoli e del Regno delle Due Sicilie che resistette strenuamente all'assedio della Regia Armata Sarda, arrendendosi solamente tre giorni dopo l'Unità d'Italia.
