Gubbio è un comune italiano di 30 520 abitanti della provincia di Perugia in Umbria. La superficie del suo territorio comunale è la più vasta della regione.
Il territorio comunale è prevalentemente montuoso e collinare, posto all'estremo est della provincia di Perugia, in parte confinante con la provincia di Pesaro-Urbino nelle Marche a nord-est. La città è posizionata alle falde del monte Ingino ed è attraversata dai torrenti Camignano e Cavarello. Nel territorio, di rilevante importanza dal punto di vista geologico, è in parte compresa la Serra di Burano, mentre poco più a sud-est è posta l'area del Monte Cucco.
