La chiesa di Santo Spirito in Sassia è un luogo di culto cattolico del centro storico di Roma, situato nel rione Borgo, nel complesso dell'omonimo arcispedale. Su di essa insiste l'omonima diaconia.
A partire dall'VIII secolo sorsero nei pressi dell'antica basilica di San Pietro in Vaticano quattro scholæ, insediamenti caratterizzati da una propria organizzazione militare e civile interna costituiti dai membri di varie popolazioni nordiche residenti in Roma, finalizzati alla mutua assistenza verso i concittadini.
