Il Sannio era la regione dell'Italia antica abitata dal popolo dei Sanniti tra il VII-VI secolo a.C. e il I secolo d. C. Comprendeva buona parte dell'attuale Molise nonché il settore meridionale dell'Abruzzo e le aree nord-orientali della Campania, oltre a racchiudere alcune ristrette zone interne del Lazio sud-orientale e della Puglia e della Basilicata nord-occidentali.
