La Lanterna di Genova è il faro portuale del capoluogo della Liguria, la città un tempo definita la Superba o Dominante dei mari.
Da secoli strumento indispensabile alla navigazione notturna delle navi in entrata e uscita dal porto, la Lanterna è anche il simbolo di Genova, assumendo quasi un ruolo di totem di tutto ciò che riguarda la città, e come tale fa parte della storia cittadina.
